How To Craft Your Irresistible Free Offer

September 4th, 2013 by under Marketing. 1 Comment.

Irresistible free offers are used for a lot of things, and one of the biggest is on your website, or other places, to build traffic.  On your website, you ask people to give you their name and their email address, and in return you give them an irresistible free offer, filled with great value and content.

There are two key words here: the first is irresistible, and the second is free.

To make your free offer irresistible you have to know what you have that makes your business stand out, or what makes you different.  What do you have that is so irresistible that people will give you their name and email address to get the information?

Here’s a big tip…it’s not your newsletter!

Let’s face it, nobody really wants another email or newsletter coming to their inbox that they’re just going to delete every week.

Your irresistible free offer has to be irresistible, which means it has to consist of great content, be benefit rich, and very specific (and sometimes, it even has to stick the knife of my biggest pain right into my side to make me feel it a little deeper).

So, you have to think about your niche…the thing in your business that makes you special, unique, and different from any other business.  Your niche is what allows you to stand out to people.

What is it that you know people want, or what’s something you can share that has a different spin than somebody else in your industry?  Is your specialty that you have the 3 secrets to… or the three biggest mistakes to avoid in… or the three keys to… Or, do you have a 3-step process to achieve success?  You have to decide what it is you have to offer.

Once you decide what it is you have that other people want, then you have to decide how to present the irresistible free offer.  You can offer an audio, video, an eBook or something downloadable, or it could be something you send, in the mail, to your prospects.  It’s up to you, but make sure whatever you give them is great content, something that’s high in perceived value, and unique to you and your business.

If you’re having a hard time deciding what you should do for your irresistible free offer, think about the things your best client needs from you.  Why do they come to you?  What do they want from you and what are they asking for?

If you can answer these things with your irresistible free offer, you’ll have traffic and people coming to you for that solution for years to come.
