Do You Have “Snow” In Your Business?

We had real snow in Atlanta last week (Friday). I say real snow because it was more than just a dusting – we got about 3 inches. That’s a lot of Atlanta.
It wasn’t like the Ohio snows I grew up with (thank goodness), but it brought out the excited little girl in me.
And, as I predicted when everyone was running to the grocery store to buy milk, eggs and bread, it had all melted by around noon on Sunday. About half of it had melted by Saturday but the temperatures didn’t get warm enough Saturday for it to melt all the way.
You might be wondering what snow has to do with business…
Well, it struck me that, for some, snow events here are a big deal. They get all worked up, worried, and excited about them.
Others don’t give it much thought. It’s just another day. They just deal with what comes up and take it all in stride.
Like business owners when things come up in their businesses.
Sometimes, we go with the flow and take things in stride.
Other times, changes and disruptions seem to throw us into a tailspin.
What’s easy for some, is hard for others.
The more adaptable you are, the easier change is.
Remember, most things are temporary.
And, we have a whole lot less control than we think we do anyway.
When things happen, expected or unexpected, ask yourself how you can deal with it to have the least interruption in your life and business.
Sometimes, you accomplish that by planning. Others, by just being flexible. And other times, just by doing the best you can in each moment – as it comes.
