Every second counts…
In your life and in your business!
That might seem obvious to you… and it should.
And, I see so many people – and business owners – wasting time, spinning their wheels, and thinking somebody else will solve their problems that it bears repeating.
You’re responsible.
You and you alone.
You are where you are based on the decisions you’ve made. And the ones you didn’t.
You’ll continue to be where you are based on the next decision, and the next, and the next.
And on the ones you avoid making.
Now, don’t get me wrong, you don’t control everything – there are situations that are beyond your control.
The travel industry experienced one of these situations last weekend.
Travelers couldn’t control all the canceled and delayed flights. To some degree, neither could the airlines… and the airline and airport employees certainly couldn’t.
But…
Do you know what you can control?
How you react or respond to the situation.
There’s nothing you can do about it, so you just have to do the best you can and go with the flow.
And, while you have that time sitting in an airport or hotel room or wherever you are, you can still make every second count.
Phones still work.
There’s still email.
And, if you have access to the internet there’s a lot you can do to stay productive.
There are a lot of ways to make every second count.
It doesn’t always have to be about business.
Lending a hand, offering comfort, and just listening are all ways to make every second count – for yourself and for others around you.
I want to challenge you to make every second count in your life this week.
I bet if you do, you’ll have one of the best weeks ever – even when you face the challenges that are bound to come your way!
I’d love to hear about your ultra-productive week (or day) where you make every second count.
By the way, don’t confuse this with meaning that you have to be working all the time – that’s not what this was about… not at all.
