How To Be More Inclusive As A Business Owner

Diversity and Inclusion have become sort of the new buzz words. But you might think of them as being words and concepts that are only applicable to big businesses.
On the contrary, there are a lot of ways, for you and me to increase the diversity and inclusion in our businesses as well…
Why is this important?
One of the main reasons this is important is because we tend to hang out with and hire people who look like us, people who believe the same things we believe and people that we think are like us.
That tends to keep us in our own box. And, as business owners, it doesn’t allow us to do the very thing that is important for us…it doesn’t allow us to grow (as people or as business owners).
Asking yourself “who’s missing” will tell you a lot. Who’s missing or not represented in your company, or on your team – even if they are virtual…
Don’t get me wrong, you are still – ALWAYS – looking for the best person you can hire who fits your needs. That will always be the case as a business owner. AND, you can always take the next step.
Even if it’s something like when you attend and event or go to a mastermind meeting…look around and see who you can visibly see who is different from you or from the event promoter. You might be surprised.
