Perception vs Facts

Our perception about things isn’t always the same as what is actually real and true.
I was talking to a client the other day and she was satisfied with a promotion but not happy about it.
Until we started looking at the actual numbers… and not her perception of what had happened.
So many times, we “think” we know about a situation… our perception.
When in fact we’re wrong because we haven’t taken a close enough look at the actual numbers.
Yes, sometimes you can get a feel for things in business. And sometimes you have to look at the actual numbers in order to know what happened.
Perception is not necessarily reality.
In this case, my client results were far better than her perception of them.
So good, as a matter of fact, that she decided she will definitely run the promotion again later this year. And because we looked at the numbers and the overall campaign, we devised a strategy for modifying what she did that we’ll test and hopefully get even better results.
