The Unexpected…

In life and in business, things happen that we don’t expect.
I’m all for planning.
Teach it. Do it. And think all business owners need to do more of it.
If you plan correctly there are very few things that will catch you off-guard.
I always plan for as many contingencies as possible and then take things as they come.
Preparing gets you pretty far.
And there are always things popping up that you might not have expected or anticipated.
What do you do then?
Do you panic and get overwhelmed?
Or do you just go into problem-solving mode?
The quicker you can go into problem-solving mode, the faster things will get back to “normal”. And you can get on with the day-to-day.
Also, the more prepared you are, the less off course everything else will get while you’re “putting out the fire.”
Life sometimes gets in the way of business. There isn’t a lot you can do about it sometimes.
The more plans and systems you have in place the better.
When the business runs, with or without you, is when you know you have built a business and you don’t just have a job.
What do you need to do so when the unexpected happens, your business just keeps right on ticking?
