What Does It Take To Be A Winner?

I was in Tampa, Florida last weekend watching the Women’s College Basketball Final 4. This is the third year in a row I’ve had the privilege of attending.
As I was watching the games, with all the fanfare and hoopla that surrounds the event, it struck me that winning comes down to just a few fundamental things – in sports and in business (life).
While they’re different in each – they’re different in every sport – in business, most things you have to do to succeed are the same – no matter what kind of business you own.
Successful businesses have a solid foundation. They have systems in place that allow the business to function and run, that aren’t based on people, but the systems (and following them).
Strategy is at the forefront of successful businesses. This is how decisions are made… strategically. Keeping the desired end result in mind at all times.
Winners get things done. They implement. They do it quickly and move to the next thing.
Winners are constantly looking for better ways to do things. Not new ways for the sake of change, but better, more efficient and effective ways. It’s about increasing productivity and profits for successful people and businesses.
There’s a certain drive that winners have. You can almost see it in their eyes.
It’s a do whatever it takes kind of attitude.
Winners are unstoppable…
Not because they don’t face adversity, challenges and even defeat at times.
Winners are unstoppable because they keep going. They get back up and continue on. They modify, change and adapt.
Winners always succeed in the end…
